Nate Diaz video blog shows water bottles thrown before UFC 279 presser cancelled

Nate Diaz’s latest video blog takes fans behind the scenes at the chaotic UFC 279 fight week in Las Vegas.

The footage includes the perspective of the Diaz camp on the chaos that forced UFC President Dana White from cancelling the Thursday press conference. Two people can be seen throwing water bottles at an unidentified figure as UFC PR staff, security, off-duty Las Vegas police and other unknown parties stand between them backstage.

According to, Diaz thought fighter turned manager Tiki Ghosn was part of Khamzat Chimaev’s camp, and members of his team threw water bottles at Ghosn, who had intervened to keep Chimaev and Kevin Holland apart after Chimaev allegedly kicked Holland, sparking the melee.

The Nevada Athletic Commission is investigating this incident and may issue fines for those responsible. Although the UFC didn’t penalize anyone involved in the melee, or Chimaev due to his weight loss, Chimaev won by a first-round submission at the T-Mobile Arena co-headliner in September 10.

The video blog gives an even more detailed look at what happened after Chimaev lost weight. This is the moment when the UFC rebook Diaz against Tony Ferguson. He was greeted backstage by Diaz during the press conference. It also shows Diaz’s weight loss, his trip to Motley Cule on the night prior to UFC 279,, and much more.
