Nate Diaz is going to take the fight to Jorge Masvidal

Former UFC welterweight championship belt challenger Jorge Masvidal, who announced a week ago his intention to resume his fighting career, will fight his next fight under boxing rules against former rival Nate Diaz.

The fight has been reported by multiple informed sources close to the situation, including prominent sports columnist Ariel Helwani.

Presumably, the boxing match could take place on February 28, while there is no information about the location of the bout yet.

The first bout between the fighters, with the BMF title on the line, took place in November 2019 at UFC 244 and ended in an early defeat for Diaz, who did not advance to the fourth round due to a severe dissection.

After that, Jorge Masvidal suffered four consecutive losses, including two losses in title fights to Kamar Usman, and announced the end of his career, while Nate Diaz lost a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards in a challenger’s bout, finished Tony Ferguson with a guillotine choke, and left the organization as a free agent.

Last August, Diaz made a disappointing professional boxing debut, losing by unanimous decision to Jake Paul at the end of ten rounds.
