Negotiations for a fight for the title of undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are at the final stage, says the manager of the Ukrainian Egis Klimas.
“We almost agreed,” Dailymail quoted Klimas as saying. “In fact, there is nothing much to discuss – two heavyweights, a fight for the title of the undisputed world heavyweight boxing champion. This is what people need. Most likely, the fight will take place no later than March 4 in the Middle East. We are targeting Saudi Arabia, but there are other options like London and Qatar.”
According to the manager, in addition to March 4, February 18 is considered as the date for the fight.
Last weekend, Tyson Fury successfully defended the WBC championship belt, in a one-sided duel, cracking down on Derek Chisora, after which the Briton challenged Oleksandr Usyk, who was in the hall, who in August retained the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO titles, winning a split decision against Anthony Joshua .
“We were negotiating even before the fight with Chisora, so we came to the fight,” Klimas explained.
