Named favorite in the duel between Israel Adesanya and Dricus Du Plessis

Reigning UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, opened as a multiple favorite against Dricus Du Plessis, who pulled off a sensational victory over Robert Whittaker in a challenge match over the weekend.

At the moment, the odds for Adesanya to win are 1.303 (76.74% probability), while Du Plessis’s success is estimated at 3.75 (26.67% probability).

The bookmakers have released the starting odds shortly after the South African finished the Australian by TKO in the second round at UFC 290 in Las Vegas to win the right to fight the Nigerian.

Having dealt with the former division champion, Drycus Du Plessis extended his winning streak in the UFC to six fights and climbed to the top spot in the organization’s middleweight rankings.

Israel Adesanya regained the title in April with a second-round knockout of Alex Pereira, who wrested the title from him last November with a fifth-round technical knockout.

Israel Adesanya was originally supposed to make his next title defense on September 9 at UFC 293 in Sydney, however, the implementation of this scenario is still in doubt.
