Former interim UFC heavyweight champion Cyril Gan has opened as the favorite to take on Sergei Spivak, who will headline the next French event of the world’s strongest league in two months.
At the moment, the odds for Gan to win are 1.526 (probability 65.52%), while Spivak’s success is estimated at 2.6 (probability 38.46%).
Bookmakers have released starting odds shortly after the heavyweight bout was officially announced as the main event of UFC Fight Night 226, which takes place on September 2 in Paris.
In March of this year, Cyril Gun made an unsuccessful attempt to win the vacant UFC championship belt, losing in two minutes by guillotine choke to Jon Jones. Prior to that, the 33-year-old Frenchman knocked out Tai Tuivasa in the third round, thereby returning his career to a successful track after losing to Francis Ngannou, whom he lost by unanimous decision in a unification bout.
28-year-old Sergei Spivak, representing Moldova, is on a series of three early victories, in the last fight he finished in the first round with Derrick Lewis’ arm triangle choke.
Currently, Cyril Gan and Sergey Spivak occupy the second and eighth lines in the UFC heavyweight division rankings, respectively.
