Named favorite in the battle between Ferguson and McGregor

If Tony Ferguson does indeed compete on The Ultimate Fighter alongside Conor McGregor, he will enter the final coaching match as a multiple underdog.

At the moment, the odds for McGregor to win is 1.357 (73.68% probability), while Ferguson’s success is estimated at 3.3 (30.30% probability).

Bookmakers have published starting odds shortly after the American fighter announced himself as the second coach of the next TUF season, in which Conor McGregor announced the day before.

UFC representatives have not yet made any official statements on this matter, but McGregor’s participation in the 31st season of the TV project was indirectly confirmed by Dana White, who reposted his publications on social networks.

Note that Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson have already participated in the TUF show – the first in 2015 as a coach, and the second in 2011 as a fighter, becoming the winner of the thirteenth season.

Tony Ferguson, 38, suffered his fifth straight loss in September last year when he lost by fourth-round guillotine choke to Nate Diaz. A few months earlier, the American tried to promote the idea of his participation in TUF with Khabib Nurmagomedov, however, things did not go beyond talk.

34-year-old Conor McGregor last entered the octagon in July 2021, having received a severe leg fracture in a duel against Dustin Poirier, and six months before that, he lost to the American by knockout in the second round.

Not so long ago, both fighters were excluded from the UFC lightweight division rankings, in which they occupied leading positions for many years.
