Named a new date for the fight between Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann

The light heavyweight fight between Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann, canceled at the last moment due to the Russian fighter’s illness, will take place on March 11 at UFC Fight Night 221 in Las Vegas.

The new date of the fight was announced by informed sources close to the situation.

Recall that the fight between Krylov and Spann was supposed to head the UFC Fight Night 220 tournament, but an hour before the headliners entered the octagon, UFC representatives reported that Shakhtar withdrew from the fight due to stomach problems. At a post-event press conference, UFC president Dana White made it clear that the fight could take place in two weeks.

30-year-old Nikita Krylov has defeated former UFC title contenders in his last two fights, knocking out Alexander Gustafsson and winning a unanimous decision over Volkan Ozdemir.

Ryan Spann, 31, also scored two consecutive victories, finishing with a guillotine choke of Ion Cutelabu and knocking out Dominic Reyes.

Currently, Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann are ranked sixth and eighth in the UFC light heavyweight division, respectively.
