Murat Gassiev will fight with a 39-year-old ex-football player from the USA

29-year-old ex-world heavyweight champion, now playing in the heavyweight category, Russian Murat Gassiev (29-1, 22 KOs) will enter the ring as part of the boxing evening on March 3 in Yerevan (Armenia).

Gassiev’s opponent will be 39-year-old American Mike Balogan (20-0, 16 KOs), who does not know defeat in profibox, a former American football player.

For Balogan, this will be the first performance outside the United States. He is mainly known for the fact that at the end of 2021, already in the first round, he stopped Trey Lippe Morrison – for the son of former world champion Tommy Morrison, this defeat was the first in his career.

Gassiev, in 2018, losing the Super Series final for the title of absolute cruiserweight champion Alexander Usik, finished with performances in the category up to 90.7 kg and made his heavyweight debut in 2020. Since then, he has three stoppage victories over Nuri Seferi, Michael Wallisch and even Carlows Welch.
