Muhammad Mokaev challenged Brandon Moreno to a fight

No. 10 ranked UFC flyweight Muhammad Mokaev, who has reeled off five straight victories under the banner of the world’s strongest league, believes he has done enough to qualify for a fight with former division champion Brandon Moreno at the top of the rankings.

“I hear you need an opponent for February 25th and I know Mexicans are tough guys,” the undefeated British fighter wrote on social media, referring to the Mexican. “Let’s make this fight – I’ll be in Mexico City. Just let the UFC know!”

Muhammad Mokaev, 23, last stepped into the octagon on Oct. 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, finishing former title challenger Tim Elliott with an arm-triangle choke in the third round.

Brandon Moreno, 29, lost his championship belt in July, losing by split decision to Allesandre Pantoja by five rounds.

Note that the Mexican event, scheduled for February, is not yet on the organization’s official calendar.
