Movsar Yevloyev responded to UFC management

Movsar Evloev, the UFC’s fifth-ranked welterweight, gave a detailed commentary on the criticism of the head of the world’s strongest league, Dana White, who called the Russian’s recent fight against Arnold Allen the least exciting fight of the UFC 297 tournament.

“I was very upset,” Yevloyev said in an interview “Match TV”. “He said it wasn’t the most entertaining fight of the night. First of all I’ll tell Dana – I didn’t come there to entertain you.”

“It was frustrating for me at the very least. I gave it my all. It was a colorful and intense fight: a lot of blood, emotions, different actions. The kind of fight that spectators usually like. A good fight against a very good opponent of high level”

“I’m now number five in the rankings and have a good chance to fight for the title in my next fight. I believe in it and I’m already close to the title. Dana realizes he will have to pay me good money for it. Apparently he wanted to whet my appetite with that statement. I’ll take the belt and they’ll have to recognize me.”

The top welterweight fight, which opened the main card of the Canadian numbered event, went the full distance and ended with the Russian fighter winning by unanimous 29-28 three round decision.

After the fight, undefeated Movsar Yevloev said he wants to see the winner of the title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Elijah Topuria headline UFC 298 in Anaheim on Feb. 17 as his next opponent.
