Dana White’s 2023 has started off in a less-than-ideal fashion.
A video of UFC President Anne White and Anne White was released shortly after the New Year. It shows them in Cabo San Lucas nightclub. White, who was dancing with his wife during their vacation turned sour when he received a slap from his husband and then retaliated with others. The couple were eventually separated. White spoke out about his actions with TMZ along with the release of the video. He did not offer any justifications.
Despite White’s inability to defend what happened during his trip, many others from the MMA community, both fighters and fans have expressed their support. Daniel Cormier, a former champion in dual divisions and UFC Hall of Famer is unsure why.
“Dana White was wrong,” Cormier said on DC & RC. He told me he was wrong. We have long been told our entire lives that we are not supposed to put our hands on women. Dana White has stated that ‘you aren’t supposed to have your hands on women’.
” Now, let’s ask the question. When you are faced with these situations, think first about the White family and their children. And if the White kids will make it through. Dana isn’t making excuses for his actions. He is being defended by some fighters. He doesn’t defend himself. He doesn’t defend himself. It’s not right .”

Outside of the Power Slap League’s TBS launch date getting delayed one week from Jan. 11 to Jan. 18, there have been no other repercussions for White’s actions. White has remained relatively quiet since the incident with the exception of positing UFC promotional videos for this week’s UFC Vegas 67 event and his weekly “F*** It Friday” social media series where he eats irregular foods in the UFC P.I. kitchen.
The California Legislative Women’s Caucus recently presented a written letter to Endeavor CEO Ari Emmanuel, requesting the removal of White as UFC president. Additionally, Endeavor shares dipped by six percent in the stock market following the incident.
“For me, it’s what happens next,” Cormier said. How does Dana White help these people? He must lead efforts to make this a better world. Domestic violence and all these other types of things. This is the real question.
“It’s no debate. It’s not like we can sit up here for 10 minutes and debate whether or not it was right or it was wrong. There’s no debate. Everyone is on the same page. It’s not right, he said, it’s incorrect, you and I both know that it is wrong, and the entire world agrees it’s wrong. What happens next is the truth. What can Dana do to help this problem move forward? That’s my opinion .”
