After a less-than-convincing win over Alex Perez, UFC featherweight number eight Muhammad Mokaev responded to a statement from number one ranked Brandon Royval that the Brit lost the fight and doesn’t deserve a title shot.
“Either way, I’m ready for the UFC 301 tournament. Perez won 29-28,” Royval wrote on social media.
“Pantoja choked you out and you lost 45-50 to him in the second fight,” Mokaev replied. “UFC is coming to Manchester in July – come and fight me. I’m undefeated and your record is 16-8 and you’re going the same way as Artem Lobov.”
Previously, reigning UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja said he will compete at UFC 301, which takes place on May 4 in Rio de Janeiro, and that he will be ready to defend his title against Muhammad Mokaev if he defeats Alex Perez.
Keep in mind that the fight between Mokaev and Perez, which took place at UFC Fight Night 238 in Las Vegas, went the distance and ended in victory for the 23-year-old British fighter by unanimous decision with a score of 29-28 three times.
