UFC on ABC 3 tournament fight
The fight will take place on July 16 in Elmont (New York, USA) at the UBS Arena and will be one of the main ones at the UFC on ABC 3 tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 21:00 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
An intriguing fight promises to be No. 3 ranked women’s flyweight Lauren Murphy (15-5) against the highly experienced Mischa Tate (19-8), who is ranked 10th. Boy Tate – Murphy was rescheduled twice, first from UFC on ESPN 36 in May to UFC 276 in July, and then to UFC on ABC 3.
Former UFC and Strikeforce bantamweight champion Tate will make her flyweight debut this Saturday. Since her resumption of her career, she has had two fights. A year ago, Tate defeated Marion Renaud, finishing her opponent with strikes in the 3rd round. And in November, the Cupcakes lost to Ketlen Vieira by unanimous decision in five rounds.
Murphy will return after she was knocked out in the 4th round by flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 266 in September. Murphy’s title shot was preceded by a streak of five victories.
Prediction for the fight
Murphy is a good striker with 8 knockout wins out of 15. But at the same time, she is stylistically comfortable for Tate. Tate, due to the correct game plan, extensive experience and, most importantly, grappling abilities, can count on success in this pair.
Misha fights well, and in this component Murphy is not even close to her. Tate knows how to find takedown opportunities, so the ex-UFC champion should take over by working on the ground. We do not rule out that Tate can submit the opponent.
