Mike Tyson gave an assessment of Francis Ngannou’s boxing skills

Three weeks after Mike Tyson joined Francis Ngannou’s coaching staff, the legendary boxer has no doubts that the former UFC champion will be able to shock the combat sports world in a showdown with Tyson Fury.

“Tyson Fury was dropped by a little guy early in his career,” MMA Fighting quoted “Iron Mike” as saying. “Francis punches like God knows who. He’s an athlete, moves fast, works on his speed, and he only needs to get hit once or twice. Tyson has never been in the ring with someone who can land a heavy punch like that.”

Mike Tyson believes the Cameroonian giant will be to the Briton what Buster Douglas was to himself in 1990, knocking him out in the tenth round and stripping him of his world title.

“Francis is determined to do it for his country and his people. It’s really exciting and I’m excited to be a part of it. It’s going to be a grander upset than my fight against Buster Douglas.”

The 57-year-old American posted a video on his YouTube channel showing how the preparation for the fight is going.

“I am honored to be a part of your journey, my brother Francis Ngannou,” Tyson wrote in a comment. “Preparation and training that will shock the world.”

As a reminder, the boxing match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will take place on October 28 in Riyadh and will have professional status, however, the WBC heavyweight world title owned by “The Gypsy King” will not be on the line this time.
