Mike Perry and Chad Mendes will be back in action at the BKFC card scheduled for April 29 Denver.
The card is also the starting point for a BKFC women’s flyweight title fight, as Christine Ferea faces off against Bec Rawlings.
BKFC officials confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Wednesday.
As of right now Perry, Mendes, and Rothwell are still waiting for final confirmations about their opponents. However, they will be announced at a future feature.
Perry teased that he would be back in April, with the promise of a prominent opponent. His last victory was against Bellator competitor Michael “Venom”, Page.
“They said that I would be back as main event in April, and they haven’t released the opponent yet. They said it’s going to be a big name,” Perry told MMA Fighting.
” That’s what I like about myself. They can just be like, ‘Mike’s going to fight in April, we’re going to set it down in stone and when we find out who it’s going to be, we’re going to call him up and he’s going to come out.’ I’m easy. I want it to be scrapped
Mendes will be making his second appearance at the BKFC ring, having signed a contract for bare-knuckle after his MMA career ended. While he remains on the UFC roster even in retirement, the promotion gave him permission to fight bare-knuckle.
In his first fight, Mendes picked up a fourth-round TKO over Joshuah “Famez” Alvarez in February 2022. He’ll be making his second return to the ring just one year later, as he tries to make waves at his new BKFC home.
As for Rothwell, he also made a successful debut in BKFC after scoring a devastating 19-second knockout over Bobo O’Bannon this past October. After a 11-plus-year career, Rothwell was released from UFC and signed with BKFC.
More fights and the opposition for Perry, Mendes, Rothwell will be added to this card over the next few days.
