UFC fighter Michael Johnson is ready to give Tony Ferguson the opportunity to recoup his first defeat under the banner of the organization.
Nearly eleven years ago, Johnson defeated Ferguson by unanimous decision over three rounds, and in that fight, El Cucuy broke his arm, but survived to the end.
After that, Ferguson gave out a series of twelve victories in a row, which was interrupted by Justin Gaethje in 2020, and Johnson alternated winning and losing streaks, including in the featherweight category.
“Tony, I’m not sure if you’re still in the big game, but if you are and you want to come back to lightweight, I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Or we can fight at welterweight. Let’s give the fans what they want!” the American fighter wrote on the social network, referring to his compatriot.
In September last year, Tony Ferguson made an unsuccessful debut in the UFC welterweight division, suffering a fifth defeat in a row in the confrontation with Nate Diaz, and Michael Johnson in December returned his career to a successful course again, winning a unanimous decision against Mark Diakezi.
