Former Bellator champ and former UFC lightweight title contender Michael Chandler has shared his expectations for a potential fight with Conor McGregor, which UFC President Dana White announced the day before.
“Obviously, Dana agrees, everyone in the UFC agrees, and I think Conor also agrees,” the American said in an interview with MMA Junkie. “You’ve seen us interact with him in the past, so don’t expect trash talk from me – that’s not my style. I have always respected Conor, said that mixed martial arts only wins with Conor, so let me be the guy on the other side of the cage when he returns to the octagon.
“People think this is going to be the most dynamic and craziest first round ever, and I’m sure it will be. The way Conor fights, the way I fight is a guarantee that you will see a head-on collision in the middle of the octagon. I hope the fight will take place in July at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It’s going to be huge, it’s going to be amazing, and I believe it’s going to happen. Everything is moving in the right direction, so let’s make it happen!”
