UFC lightweight Michael Chandler believes that Justin Gaethje, not Islam Makhachev, should fight for the belt next.
“Islam Makhachev has done a phenomenal job with Hooker, he is on the right track. But what Gaethje did is more like a title fight. It seems to me that Justin will defeat any of the Oliveira-Poirier pair. He will break Oliveira, and against Poirier he will draw conclusions from the defeat in the first fight and take revenge, ”Chandler said on The MMA Hour.
On November 7, Chandler lost to Gaethje via unanimous decision at UFC 268.
