Merab Dvalishvili has confirmed a fight with Henry Sehudo

UFC lightweight No. 2 Merab Dvalishvili has confirmed that his next opponent will be American Henry Sehudo, ranked No. 3 in the division’s rankings.

“I have a big challenge in front of me in the person of Henry Sehudo, and I am only focused on that,” the Georgian fighter said in an interview with MMAJunkie. “I can straighten out Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera in one day, no problem, but Henry Sehudo is a very big challenge.”

According to Dvalishvili, a fight with “Triple Crown Champion” is tentatively scheduled for February, however, he prefers to fight on the same card with Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera, whose title clash will headline UFC 299 on March 9.

“Our fight is scheduled for February, but I’d like to fight on the same card with O’Malley and Cheeto. It makes sense. The winner of our fight will fight for the title. Besides, if something happens to one of the participants in the title fight, I can step in as a replacement. Stylistically, neither O’Malley nor Vera are a problem for me, unlike Sejudo.”
