UFC featherweight number one Merab Dvalishvili talked about how he plans to face the division’s reigning champion, Sean O’Malley.
“I see O’Malley as a dangerous opponent because he moves well on the feet, he has knockout power, a very strong right hand, and good timing,” MMAFighting quoted the Georgian fighter as saying. “I consider him a dangerous fighter. After he qualified for the Contender Series show and I saw him in the UFC, I wanted to fight him because I wanted to challenge myself, and I’m still striving for that”
“Visualizing a fight with him, I think I have to act smart, be patient, stay in the standup, and wait for the right moment to translate. If he can defend himself, I’ll let him go and then try to translate him again. I’ll make him slow down, he’ll get tired, and eventually I’ll transfer him down and destroy him.”
As a reminder, Sean O’Malley will make the defense of his championship belt against fifth-ranked Marlon Vera in the division’s rankings as early as this weekend at UFC 299 in Miami.
