‘McGregor is playing Dr. Evil’: UFC Hall of Fame member on the Irishman’s New Year’s Eve announcement

UFC Hall of Fame member, Daniel Cormier, believes Conor McGregor continues to play the bad guy role and manipulate Michael Chandler by announcing that his fight with the American will take place in a middleweight division that neither of them have ever fought in.

“Why did he call middleweight?” said Cormier in a video posted on his Youtube channel. “It’s worth watching the video and you’ll hear the laughter at the end. He’s like Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers show. Do you remember Dr. Evil making little jokes, laughing, and putting his finger to his face because he knew he was behaving badly? That’s exactly what Conor McGregor is doing.”

“McGregor is behaving badly, he’s playing a game in which he has assigned himself the role of villain. Because villains manipulate, pull strings, are puppeteers. The villain chooses the music and makes you move to its rhythm. McGregor acts like a villain because Michael Chandler is the good guy.”

“Chandler refuses to play the bad guy, even if that acting would benefit him. I think in this situation he should have played the bad guy and told McGregor, ‘Back off. I’m done with you. Fuck you. I’m sure if he had done that, McGregor would have come back a little bit sooner.”

Hours before the New Year, Conor McGregor officially announced that his fight against Michael Chandler will take place on June 29 as part of the annual numbered event that the world’s strongest league traditionally holds in Las Vegas.
