Max Holloway made a statement about his fight with Justin Gaethje

Former UFC featherweight champion, Max Holloway, commented on the information that his next opponent could be the number two ranked UFC lightweight, Justin Gaethje, who holds the so-called BMF title.

“I think we could both entertain the fans by fighting for the BMF title,” Holloway told ESPN. “I know they’re short on guys for the UFC 300 tournament, so that would be perfect.”

“Justin could have one fight for the fans because he has to wait. If Islam doesn’t fight before Ramadan, Gaethje will have to wait until October, and by then it will have been a year and a half since his last fight.”

“I don’t think he should sit idle for that long. So why not have fun and make a lot of money by putting on a show and making the fans happy? I wouldn’t want such a talented fighter to sit idle for a year waiting for a title fight.”

Earlier in the day, Gaethje’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, announced the possible organization of the fight.
