Two days after losing a fight against American Jared Cannonier, former UFC middleweight title contender Marvin Vettori made a statement summarizing the match and promised his fans to come back stronger than ever.
“A lion remains a lion. As always, the spirit was not broken. I will come back stronger, I promise you this,” the Italian wrote on the social network.
The middleweight bout between Marvin Vettori and Jared Cannonier, who headlined UFC on ESPN 47 in Las Vegas last weekend, went all the way to win the American via unanimous decision, 48-46 and 49-45 twice.
Having suffered a defeat, Vettori lost to his opponent the third line in the UFC middleweight ranking, moving to the fourth position in the top ten of the division.
Jared Cannonier, who won the second victory in a row, after the fight expressed the hope that his next fight will be either a Candidates or Title.
