The bantamweight bout between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen will be the main event of UFC Fight Night 219 on February 18 in Las Vegas.
The duel, which was announced the day before by well-known sports columnist Ariel Helwani, was officially announced by the organization.
In August of this year, Marlon “Chito” Vera scored a fourth victory in a row, defeating former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz by knockout in the fourth round.
Cory Sandhagen got his career back on track in September by winning a TKO over Song Yadong at the end of the fourth round, whom the doctor didn’t release into the final round. Prior to that, Sandhagen lost decisions to T.J. Dillashaw and Petr Yan.
Marlon Vera and Corey Sandhagen are currently ranked fourth and fifth in the UFC bantamweight division, respectively.
