Marlon Vera questioned the status of Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC lightweight division number six Marlon Vera, who once listed Russia as a third-world country, made an insulting attack on fans who believe Khabib Nurmagomedov is the greatest fighter of all time.

The Ecuadorian fighter mentioned the undefeated Russian while commenting on a post about former UFC bantamweight champion Jon Jones, who currently holds the UFC heavyweight title.

“Twelve years later, Jon Jones remains the last remaining champion on this list,” reads a post by ESPN’s official social media account.

“And yet some of you idiots call Khabib the greatest. Lol,” Cheeto wrote.

Jon Jones will make his title defense against Stipe Miocic on Nov. 11 at UFC 295 in New York City, and Marlon Vera could be the next opponent for current UFC flyweight champion Sean O’Malley.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, 35, last fought in October 2020, successfully unifying the current and interim UFC lightweight titles against American Justin Gaethje, and the undefeated Russian fighter was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame last summer.
