Marlon Vera made a statement after the defeat

The UFC bantamweight number three, Marlon Vera, who was defeated in a duel against Corey Sandhagen, is not going to look for excuses for a poor performance.

“I failed today and I have no excuses. Just remember that I won’t stop. It sucks, but such is life!” the Ecuadorian fighter wrote on the social network.

The bantamweight bout between Marlon Vera and Cory Sandhagen headlined UFC on ESPN 43 in San Antonio went all the way to a split decision in favor of the American fighter.

At the same time, two judges saw an unconditional victory for Sandhagen, giving the score 50-45 and 49-46 in his favor, and their third colleague, to everyone’s surprise, decided that Vera won rounds three through five and took the fight with a score of 48-47.
