Having successfully coped with the weight race, Islam Makhachev and Alexander Volkanovski held the final battle of views and gave the last comments before the historic superfight at the UFC 284 show weighing ceremony, which starts in Perth, Australia, in less than a day.
“Tomorrow we will put everything on the line, but I will go out to pick it all up,” the Australian promised his compatriots. “Let’s go!”
The Russian, whose words the audience met with a dissatisfied rumble, warned local fans that the result of the fight would upset them greatly.
“Perth, I spent 20 days here, I like you, but tomorrow I will upset you,” Makhachev promised. “Thank you!”
A few hours earlier, the participants in the historic superfight had no problems hitting the champion lightweight limit – Makhachev showed 70.3 kg, and Volkanovski recorded exactly 70 kg.
Recall that in the upcoming fight, the Russian will defend the UFC lightweight championship belt, and the representative of Australia, who owns the title in the featherweight category, will risk the title of the best fighter of the organization, regardless of weight.
