“Of course I was shocked – I did a great job, got my victory, but the judges did not give it to me,” Ankalaev said in an interview with ESPN after UFC 282. “I don’t know what kind of judges they are – they need to be checked”
“Of course, he beat off my leg, it was hard for me, but I did everything to get the victory. Everything you need to win, to get the belt, I did. My plan is always to dominate, and if something doesn’t work out, we change the plan, start translating, do everything to raise my hand.”
The Russian also commented on the information that the championship belt, which remained vacant, on January 21 at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro will be played by Glover Teixeira and Jamal Hill.
“This is their decision. I’m staying here and I’ll hunt for the belt.”
In addition, Ankalaev clarified that his words in the octagon that he no longer wants to fight referred to Las Vegas, and not to the UFC.
“I want to clarify something. After the fight, I said I don’t want to fight in this city because of the terrible refereeing – I didn’t say I don’t want to fight in the UFC, ”the light heavyweight wrote on the social network. “I fought with all my might today. It’s not an excuse, but I had a knee injury and I know I won the fight. I want to thank Dana White and Mick Maynard for the opportunity.”
