The second number of the UFC light heavyweight rating, Magomed Ankalaev, turned to the UFC with a request to organize a fight for him, naming two potential rivals with whom he would like to share the octagon.
According to the Russian, he is ready to fight again with Jan Blachowicz, in the confrontation with whom he could not win the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship belt, or to welcome former UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira in the division.
“Hey UFC, I’m hungry – give me a job,” Ankalaev wrote on the social network. “Yan, if you are ready to get up, show signs of life! If not, I will gladly welcome Pereira at the new weight and show that there are different levels in this game!”
Recall that the fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blakhovych, which took place in December last year, went the whole distance and ended in a draw by a split decision. Prior to this, the Russian light heavyweight won nine consecutive victories in the UFC, five of which were won ahead of schedule.
As for Alex Pereira, the day before he mentioned Ankalaev among the likely opponents, however, today he announced that he plans to stay in middleweight and complete the trilogy with Israel Adesanya.
