Magomed Ankalaev challenged former UFC champion

If Alex Pereira doesn’t want to share the octagon with him, Magomed Ankalaev is ready to welcome former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya to the welterweight division.

This was announced by the Russian fighter in the social network, commenting on the refusal of the champion from the fight.

“Alex Pereira, I’m not surprised that you did what your coach did when he was offered a fight with me – Glover Teixeira ran away,” Ankalaev wrote.

“Steilbender?” the Russian added, referring to the Nigerian.

Magomed Ankalaev knocked out Johnnie Walker in a potential challenger’s bout last weekend before signaling his willingness to step up for a fight against Alex Pereira at UFC 300 in Las Vegas, however, the reigning champion has made it clear that he is not interested in the offer, naming former titleholder, Jamal Hill, as his next opponent.

As for Israel Adesanya, he said in a recent interview that he will not resume full training until the end of February, after which he will start preparing for his next fight, about which there is no definite information yet.
