Magomed Ankalaev addressed the proposal to Tom Aspinall

UFC light heavyweight division number three Magomed Ankalaev may hold a joint training camp with interim UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who has previously described himself as a big fan of the Russian fighter.

“Champ, I would love to train with you,” the Russian wrote on social media, referring to the Brit.

“I replied to you in private messages,” Aspinall reported.

Two and a half weeks ago, Magomed Ankalaev became one of the top contenders for a flyweight title fight by knocking out Brazilian Johnny Walker in the second round, and Tom Aspinall won the interim UFC heavyweight championship belt last November by knocking out Russian Sergey Pavlovic in 69 seconds.

Two days earlier, the British heavyweight announced he was ready to go on a title defense against the winner of the fight between Curtis Blades and Jailton Almeida, while the Russian welterweight expects to challenge the division’s current champion, Alex Pereira.
