UFC 273 tournament bout
The fight will take place on April 10 in Jacksonville (Florida, USA) at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena and will be part of the main card of the UFC 273 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 05:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
Two top representatives of the minimum division will fight in the cage: the 5th number of the rating Mackenzie Dern (11-2) and the 7th number Teisha Torres (13-5).
Dern is set to close out a unanimous decision loss to Marina Rodriguez last October in her first main event in the UFC, ending her four-fight win streak.
Torres, after four defeats in a row, managed to maintain a place in the roster, having won the last three bouts. She last fought in August at UFC 265, where she confidently defeated Angela Hill by a verdict.
Prediction for the fight
Dern is a highly decorated grappler, so her strongest side is on the ground, where she feels like a duck to water, submitting 4 (all in the first round) of her 6 UFC victories. Torres works well on the ground, but she is very far from the level of grappling of her rival.
But Torres is better in the stance, where Dern has big holes. But Torres doesn’t have a powerful punch to hold Dern back. We assume that Mackenzie will be able to realize his advantage, and due to this, win at least a victory on points. But still, the submission performed by Dern seems very real to us.
