According to the functionary, the 34-year-old Lomachenko can easily get a fight with the undisputed lightweight champion, which will be determined in a couple of days in the fight between George Kambosos and Devin Haney.

But, the company president says, Lomachenko “will have to think and decide with his family and his country what will happen after Saturday night, when the winner of the Kambosos-Haney fight is revealed: does he want to return to the profession or does he want to stay at home, protecting his people and providing maximum assistance on site.

Duboeuf added that “because of the sensitivity of the topic” no one will put pressure on Vasily or push him to return to the ring: “This is personal, and it does not concern you, or me, or what we believe in. It’s really about what Vasily believes in. He’s the one entering the ring, not us.”

“Obviously, we want him to be in the best physical shape he can be,” the Top Rank president said, almost screaming “come back already!”
