Promoter Bob Arum (Top Rank) would like to organize a fight for the title of absolute world champion for his ward Ukrainian lightweight Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs), that is, to fight the winner of the fight between Australian George Kambosos Jr. (20-0, 10 KOs) and American Devin Haney ( 27-0, 15 KOs).

Previously, Lomachenko was a favorite for a fight with the owner of the WBC Franchise, WBA Super, IBF and WBO belts Kambosos, but he was forced to refuse the fight – he is now not in the box, as part of the defense forces he is defending Ukraine from Russian invaders.

Arum shared his prediction for the fight Kambosos vs Haney (bet on the American), after which
confirmed the intention bring the ex-hegemon from Ukraine to the winner: “Yes, definitely. Especially since Lomachenko is the gold standard for lightweight for me. But, alas, now he is in Ukraine, fighting for his country. We weren’t able to get him out. I hope we can still arrange it. I would really like to see Lomachenko fight Haney or Kambosos for all the championships.”

Arum shared with the media his knowledge of the geography of Ukraine: “Lomachenko lives 10 kilometers north of Odessa. There were no shellings in that city. But I repeat, in military uniform he contributes to the defense of the country from the Russian occupiers.”

And yesterday the president was talking about the same topic Top Rank Todd Duboff: Will Lomachenko enter the ring or stay in Ukraine? Promoter Kambosos was asked about the potential fight: Is Lomachenko next after Haney? It’s funny that Kambosos and Haney had a fight during a press conference because of a boxer from Ukraine.
