Lomachenko is decently limited in skills – Stevenson

It seems that the former world champion in two categories, American Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) has already come to terms with the fact that his next opponent will be compatriot Jemaine Ortiz (16-1-1, 8 KOs). In any case, lately Stevenson speaks mainly about him and in a rather complimentary tone.

So, it turned out that Shakur has been watching Jemaine since amateur times, especially noting the nature of a potential opponent. But the level of skill in Ortiz, according to Stevenson, leaves much to be desired, and this was also noticeable in his last performance against the Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko in October last year.

“I give him (Ortiz) his due, he didn’t shy away from challenges and fought everyone since the days of the amateurs,” said Shakur. “I can’t call him a great master, but he is strong and with character. Perhaps, in his fight against Lomachenko, it might seem to someone that he is skillful, but this is all due to the fact that Lomachenko himself is decently limited in his skills.

But Ortiz, in turn, declares that only he can beat Stevenson.
