The last undisputed world champion in heavyweight history, British legend Lennox Lewis, has no doubt that Ukrainian heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs), who holds the WBA Super, IBF and WBO belts, will be an extremely difficult opponent for WBC champion Englishman Tyson Fury (33-0- 1, 24 KOs). Their fight is supposed to take place in the spring-summer of next year, and the title of the absolute world champion will be at stake.
On Saturday in London (England), Fury held an intermediate defense of the title – for the third time he beat compatriot Derek Chisora (33-13, 23 KOs). Usyk watched what was happening from the ringside.

reasoning Lewis: “Usyk came to the fight for a reason. I know that he carefully watched what was happening, felt the energy. He’s going to find a way to beat Fury. So it definitely won’t be a breeze for Tyson. Usyk is a world champion for a reason. He is a very dedicated person. He gives it his all in training. He will do anything to win.”
Lewis believes that Fury made the decision to hold this interim fight for a reason: “There is nothing to say about the fight itself. Great fight for Tyson, but not for Chisora. Fury did whatever he wanted. However, he did not even give all the best. Worked somewhere at 80%. He could end the fight at any moment. But he did everything right. He needed those rounds to keep himself busy, and he got what he wanted. A very smart decision.”
Not all fans are happy with referee Victor Laughlin’s decision to stop the fight in the 10th round. Lewis believes that the third in the ring worked clearly: “The referee did everything right. The decision to surrender is always very difficult for a fighter and his team. But in this case, they should have accepted it, and not wait for the referee to do so. Laughlin is a good guy. He did everything right.”
In the meantime, Chisora replied that he was thinking about the go-ahead of the referee in the fight with Fury. Will the veteran retire? The battered Chisora has an opinion on this matter.
