Leon Edwards to be stripped of UFC title for refusing to fight Colby Covington

If Leon Edwards refuses to fight Colby Covington, he will forfeit the UFC welterweight title.

This was reported by an American fighter with reference to the President of the UFC, Dana White.

“He has nowhere to go,” Covington told Submission Radio. “I spoke with Dana White, Hunter Campbell, and they assured me that everything would be fine. If he refuses to fight, they will strip him of his title. Therefore, the fact that he tries to cry and act like he decides something just makes me laugh. He just has no choice. Dana told me that I was fighting him in the summer. I know he really wanted to fight ‘Street Judas’ Masvidal, but don’t worry Leon – after I beat you, you can fight Jorge in prelims.”

“I’m not surprised that Edwards is afraid. He knows that this is the hardest fight of his life and that I will come to take everything he has earned from him. He worked so hard that he got the easiest fight in the division, Nate Diaz, who almost fell off, and now he’s acting like he’s cleared the entire division. He has done nothing in this sport, but he acts like he has achieved everything that is possible. But the fans see this and understand that he is just a coward, whom I will deal with very soon. ”

A welterweight title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington on July 22 is rumored to headline UFC 291 in London.
