Reigning UFC welterweight champion, Leon Edwards, has responded to an offer from current UFC heavyweight titleholder, Jon Jones, who promised to give him a motorcycle or any other valuable gift for his victory over Colby Covington.
“Respect, The Greatest – that was an easy job. Your words mean a lot to me. I don’t ride a motorcycle, so I’d take a Rolex,” the Briton wrote on the social network, adding a few emojis to the message.
The welterweight title fight, which headlined last weekend’s UFC 296 event in Las Vegas, went the full distance and ended in a 49-46 three-round unanimous decision defeat for the American.
Recall that Jon Jones and Colby Covington shared a room in college in their youth, however, the welterweight’s scandalous statements to his former buddy have led to the fighters having a genuine dislike for each other over the past few years.
