Leon Edwards and Colby Covington: words before the fight

Welterweight title contenders Leon Edwards and Colby Covington gave their final comments before the matchup that headlines UFC 296 in Las Vegas in less than 24 hours.

“Las Vegas, Nevada, are you ready for the American Revolution?”, Covington asked the crowd at the showcase weigh-in for the event. “I dedicate this fight to all law enforcement officers, military personnel, and the entire MAGA movement – we can be apprehended, but not stopped. Trump will be back in the White House and I will take the undisputed championship belt tomorrow! It’s all for America, let’s go!”

“Consider him dead,” Edwards replied. “I remember everything he said about my father, and tomorrow he will answer for it.”

A day earlier at the pre-fight press conference, the Brit threw a bottle at his opponent after the American promised to drag the UFC champion to hell where he could say hello to his late father, who was murdered twenty years ago in a London nightclub.
