Leon Edwards and Colby Covington fight dates have been announced

Although the title fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington has yet to be officially announced, it will take place before the end of this year.

This was announced by the manager of the current UFC welterweight champion, Tim Simpson.

“It will take place before the end of the year,” MMAnews quoted Edwards’ rep as saying. “I believe there are two tournaments left, November and December, and they’re still forming those cards. Leon is perfectly fine and he’s ready. From what I understand, Colby is ready as well.”

UFC president Dana White, speaking to reporters after the qualifying show in Las Vegas, avoided answering the question directly.

“I can’t say anything about that. As soon as we’re ready, we’ll announce it,” said the head of the organization.

A good joke on the topic of a welterweight title fight was made by UFC middleweight Derek Brunson.

“Tried to run the Edwards vs. Covington fight in the UFC 5 game on PS5 and my console burned up. This fight just can’t be done!” the American wrote on social media.

Recall that on November 11 in New York will be held UFC 295: Jones – Miocic, and on December 16, the strongest league in the world will hold in Las Vegas UFC 296, which does not yet have a main event.
