The legendary Kazakhstani veteran Gennady Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) failed to take all the super middleweight titles from the antagonist from Mexico Saul Alvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs), after which he decided to return to his native middleweight – He is the holder of WBA Super and IBF titles.

Both organizations require the veteran to conduct an immediate mandatory defense. First, the WBA demanded that Golovkin fight the Cuban Erislandy Lara (29-3-3, 17 KOs), then the IBF insisted on a fight with the Brazilian Esquiva Falcao (30-0, 20 KOs). The organizations seemed to have agreed that at first the champion would still fight with the unbeaten representative of Brazil, and then the Australian Michael Zerafa (30-4, 19 KOs) suddenly took the floor – he claims that he will fight with the Kazakhstani in March in Australia.

Promoter Tom Loeffler (GGG Promotions) were asked to dot all the “i”. But, alas, he does not really
told: “Gennady has not yet made a decision. All that is known is that he will return to middleweight. So for now, we are in the same boat. Waiting for everything to fall into place. Looking forward to GGG making a decision on where he wants to go next.”

Meanwhile, Golovkin’s potential rival threatened the commentator with a knockout. Have you thought about how Golovkin can return to the boxing elite? De La Hoya has the answer.
