Despite the fact that at the moment the requirements of British world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs), who wants to get most of the prize fund of the fight for the title of absolute champion against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik (20-0, 13 KO), do not satisfy the side of the latter, the promoter of the Ukrainian boxer Alexander Krasyuk is still optimistic and believes that Fury will change his position.
“I expect that we have a good chance (to finalize the agreement). I am really optimistic,” Krasyuk assured. – Only one thing can interfere with the fight – it’s Fury himself. Usyk is very flexible, money has never touched his heart. He knows that if he is successful in the ring, the money will not go anywhere. That’s why my only concern is Tyson’s attitude.”
“If Fury is afraid of losing his popularity, losing his current status, and against Usyk he has a very good chance of this, he can balk and insist on a larger part (of the prize fund) to justify the risk,” said the promoter. “This is probably the most risky fight in boxing for him. But deep down I believe that he has the heart of a warrior, and he will accept honest conditions, and will not beat around the bush. And then we will be able to announce the fight officially in the next three days.”
Recall Usyk-Fury fight is tentatively scheduled for April 29 in London (England) at Wembley Stadium.
