Popular Chechen fighter Khamzat Chimaev did not ignore the statement of former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who announced his readiness to return to the octagon soon.
“Borz” reacted to the Nigerian’s words with a social media post, posting a snapshot from his recent fight against Kamaru Usman and a photo of Adesanya.
Earlier, the former UFC champion revealed in an interview with IFL TV that he has no plans to put his career on pause until 2027, hinting that we can expect news of his next fight soon.
Israel Adesanya announced his desire to take an extended break in September of this year, after he sensationally lost to Sean Strickland at UFC 293 in Sydney and lost his championship belt.
Khamzat Chimaev had his last fight on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, a middleweight division title fight, defeating Kamara Usman by majority judge’s decision and becoming a prime candidate to fight Sean Strickland, but lost his title shot to Dricus Du Plessis due to an injury suffered in the fight.
Israel Adesanya and Khamzat Chimaev are currently ranked No. 1 and No. 9 in the UFC’s middleweight division rankings, respectively.
