Former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, was delighted with the joint event held by Bellllator MMA and Rizin FF, in which the fighters of the American organization won a dry victory with a score of 5-0.
Bellator President Scott Cocker spoke about the impressions of the Russian fighter.
“Khabib has never seen such a production and such fans, and he literally went crazy with delight,” Cocker said at a press conference after the Rizin 40 tournament held in Saitama. “He told me, ‘This is incredible. I had no idea that something like this was happening in Japan.’ And I told him, ‘You know, this is where it all started, Khabib. This is the place where martial arts and mixed martial arts originated and spread throughout the world. There was a time when Japan had the best fighters in the world, had the best production in the world, and had the best organization in the world.’ He was really very impressed. I think he was delighted and will talk about Japanese MMA, Rizin and the show for a long time to come.”
Nurmagomedov, who arrived at the show as part of Gadzhi Rabadanov’s team, also shared his impressions of the trip to Japan.
“It was very interesting in Japan, I visited this country for the first time, it’s just a different world, words can’t describe it,” the Russian wrote on a social network. “Congratulations to Gadzhi Rabadanov. You closed this year of the team with your performance, and you managed to make it a bright victory. This year is the most memorable for our team, we will remember it for a long time”

Recall that the fight between Gadzhi Rabadanov and the Japanese Koji Takeda, which opened the main card of the event, ended with the victory of the Russian by unanimous decision.
