Khabib’s coach made a statement on the Russian’s return to fighting

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach, Javier Mendes, has categorically denied information that the former UFC lightweight champion has resumed his training process and is preparing for a return to fighting.

“I am in Dubai and I recorded this video to stop rumors about Khabib’s return, about us training together,” the American said. “We never talked about his return and he remains steadfast in his decision to spend more time with his family. He’s still not secunding anyone and he’s not going to fight. Khabib flew here a couple days ago and we do train together, but we do cardio – no kickboxing or MMA. So stop this clickbait!”

The information that Khabib Nurmagomedov has resumed training and may be preparing for a fight with Leon Edwards at UFC 300 was announced by former UFC middleweight and bantamweight title challenger Chel Sonnen, whose suggestion was presented by some media outlets as insider information from a source close to the situation.

As a reminder, the UFC 300 anniversary event will take place April 13 in Las Vegas and does not yet have a main event.
