Khabib’s coach issued a statement on the Russian’s return to fighting

Khabib's trainer made a statement on the Russian's return to fighting

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s coach, Javier Mendes, has categorically denied information that the former UFC lightweight champion has resumed training and is preparing for a return to fighting.

“I’m in Dubai and I recorded this video to stop rumors about Khabib’s return and about us training together,” said the American. “We have never spoken about his return and he remains steadfast in his decision to spend more time with his family. He still has not signed anyone and will not fight. Khabib flew here a few days ago and we train together, but we do cardio – no kickboxing or MMA. So stop with this clickbait!”

The information that Khabib Nurmagomedov has resumed training and may be preparing for a fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 300 was announced by former UFC middleweight and bantamweight title challenger Chel Sonnen, whose suggestion was presented by some media outlets as inside information from a source close to the situation.

As a reminder, the UFC 300 anniversary event takes place April 13 in Las Vegas and does not yet have a main event fight.
