Khabib reacted to the information about the UFC’s refusal

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov indirectly confirmed the information that two years ago he refused the organization’s offer to return to the octagon for forty million dollars.

“I hope one day they will stop talking about it,” the undefeated Russian fighter wrote on social media, commenting on one of the headlines on the topic.

The source of this information was Nurmagomedov’s friend and teammate, Daniel Cormier, who commented on rumors that the Russian is preparing to resume his career.

“Khabib told us he turned down a forty million dollar offer from the UFC,” the American said in a conversation with his compatriot Ben Askren. “I don’t know if it was for one fight or multiple fights. He just said, ‘I turned down forty million dollars, bro – I’m done.’ I don’t know what would make him come back now, considering the amount he turned down two years ago.”

Last week, the former UFC champion, as well as his coach, Javier Mendes, had to personally deny information that he was preparing for a UFC 300 event in which he would allegedly challenge current UFC welterweight champion, Leon Edwards.

As a reminder, the anniversary event will take place on April 13 in Las Vegas and remains without a main event for now.
