Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has confirmed that he is finally leaving the world of mixed martial arts, including having completed his coaching and promotional activities.
The undefeated Russian fighter, who was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame last year, reposted a fan account that was one of the first to announce his decision to step away from the MMA industry and also explained his motives.
“The reason is Khabib’s desire to spend more time with his family,” the entry reads.
In addition, this news was confirmed by mixed martial arts veteran Shamil Zavurov, who is the president of the Eagle FC organization and a close friend of Nurmagomedov.
“He left the sport, but the sport will not leave him anywhere. We plowed well for the night, ”Zavurov wrote on the social network, posting a joint training photo.
There is no information yet about whether Khabib Nurmagomedov will be present in the corner of Islam Makhachev in a duel against Alexander Volkanovski, and what awaits his Eagle FC league.
