Khabib Nurmagomedov headed Islam Makhachev’s training camp

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nuragomedov has joined Islam Makhachev’s training camp, taking the position of the team’s head coach.

The current UFC titleholder informed his fans on social media by posting a joint photo with the undefeated member of the UFC Hall of Fame.

“The head coach joined the training camp,” Makhachev wrote on social media, posting a joint training photo. “Nothing has changed, but you’ll have to sweat more.”

In two weeks, the Russian fighter will go for a rematch with Brazilian Charles Oliveira to headline UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 21.

The bout comes a year after Makhachev finished Oliveira with an arm-triangle choke in the second round at UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi and won the vacant UFC lightweight championship belt.
