Hall of Famer and former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has unveiled his ranking of the best fighters in mixed martial arts history, topped by Fedor Emelianenko and Jon Jones.
“My top 15 greatest fighters in MMA,” the Russian wrote on the social network.
The full list published by Nurmagomedov is as follows:
1) Fedor Emelianenko/John Jones
2) Georges St-Pierre
3) Anderson Silva
4) Demetrius Johnson
5) Daniel Cormier
6) Henry Cejudo
7) Jose Aldo
8) Kamaru Usman
9) Israel Adesanya
10) BJ Penn
11) Hoyce Gracie
12) Randy Couture/Kane Velasquez
13) Dan Henderson/Shogun Hua
14) Mirko Cro Cop/Stipe Miocic
15) Dominic Cruz/Frankie Edgar
Many fans noted the fact that the Russian fighter did not include himself and former dual UFC champion Conor McGregor, who in 2015 knocked out Jose Aldo, who was on the seventh line, in 2015 in 13 seconds, and some felt that this ranking should have included place for dual UFC champion Amanda Nunes and former UFC flyweight title holder Valentina Shevchenko.
Recall that the undefeated Khabib Nurmagomedov ended his professional career in October 2020, having successfully unified the interim and current UFC lightweight titles in a confrontation with American Justin Gaethje.
